Hey, here's your chance to spend your summer as a Spotify intern and become an integrated member of one of our teams. When the fall comes, this gig might turn into a permanent position, given that you’ve already graduated. 

 

For the Summer of 2020 we are among others looking for interns in these areas below. Please note that we might have more than one role within each area within multiple teams.

Our Roles Within Software Engineering – Stockholm & Gothenburg

BACKEND DEVELOPMENT
 

We are looking for Backend Engineer Interns to join the band this Summer! You will work with a team of talented engineers that share a common interest in distributed backend systems, their scalability and continued development. You will help build the backend systems that power our application, scale highly distributed systems, and continuously improve our engineering practices.  Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music. Come, architect, design, develop, deploy and operate Java services that serve millions of users in a DevOps manner. 

Courses: Computer Science or equivalent

Skills: Java, Git, Python

FULL STACK ENGINEERING

We are looking for Full Stack Developer Interns to join the band this Summer! You will work with a team of talented engineers that share a common interest in the integration of different systems, their scalability and continued development. You will create and reshape existing services using the latest technologies for millions of users. We want you to write clear, maintainable code that will scale across a number of projects and distributed development teams

 

Course: Computer Science, Data Engineering 

Skills: C++, Java, Javascript, Mobile
 

SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEERI

We are looking for a Site Reliability Intern to help make sure the music never stops streaming. You will help design, code, and operate tools and systems to reduce the amount of time and effort necessary for our engineers to scale the world’s best music streaming product to millions of users. We are strong believers in engineering teams taking operational responsibility for their products and work hard to support them in this. We work closely with engineers to advocate sensible, scalable, systems design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues.

Courses: Computer Science or equivalent

Skills:  Python, Java & Linux. Interest in load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management

EMBEDDED / NATIVE ENGINEERING

 

We are looking for Embedded / Engineering Interns to join one of our more hardware focused teams. The Platform they are building is powered by Spotify's own voice stack. As an intern you will write clear, maintainable and modular code to help out with building the platform that runs on these hardware devices, as well as contribute to the embedded player and voice SDK. Above all, your contributions will impact the way the world experiences audio.

 

Courses: Computer Science or equivalent

Skills:  C/C++, Linux (Scripting a plus)

The Intern Gig

 

This isn't just any internship! Our paid internship program will last for 12-13 weeks next summer starting in the middle of June, and you'll get a chance to gain in-depth knowledge of what it's like to be a Spotify employee.

 

For the Program we’re looking for enthusiastic students/recent graduates with a passion for audio and an ambition to go far, just like us. You should be at the end of your studies, graduating latest Summer 2021 or recently graduated from your studies. To be eligible for our internships you need to be based in the location of the internship, e.g. Sweden for a Stockholm based internship.
 

Make sure attach your CV and Cover letter in English and specify what Intern role you’re interested in, in the application form. We will then match you with the best Intern role based on your interest and skill-set. 

 

The deadline to apply is December 1st, 2019 at 11:59 PM CET. You can expect the following application timeline:

 
– Late December, 2019 – Mid January, 2020: Application Review
– Late January, 2020 – March, 2020: Interviews
– February, 2020 – April, 2020: Offers given out
