Senior Podcast Strategist & Programming Manager

Spotify is looking for a passionate and experienced content programmer to join our Content Team. You will play an important role in defining and executing Spotify’s programming strategy in one of Spotify’s most successful regions.

The main focus for this role is growth opportunities in podcast content. You will work in close collaboration with other members of the programming, editorial and marketing teams. You will be located in Miami and report into the Head of Studios LatAm.

What you’ll do

  • Help develop Spotify’s podcast strategy for multiple topic categories and help to create a holistic content plan 
  • Enable actionable insights with data-driven analysis
  • Provide actionable and creative feedback to development teams on techniques for optimizing series performance
  • Build relevant benchmarks and develop models for forecasting future results 
  • Partner closely with content analytics to analyze content, production and consumption trends and translate them into clear and actionable programming guidelines  
  • Identify and monitor key market and competitive trends and organize content studies
  • Co-Develop, vet & test pilot episodes with dedicated focus groups in order to increase the chances for a successful launch
  • Secure internal information flow about podcast content & trends (e.g. Podcast newsletter, retros etc.)
  • Project manage new product launches e.g. Podcast Playlists & Daily Drive as well as interface to R&D 
  • Build and handle a content calendar based around upcoming launches, editorial themes, and cultural moments in the various Spanish speaking regions across LatAm
  • Develop and execute creative, quantifiable programming campaigns to drive awareness and engagement
  • Collect, analyze and report relevant performance metrics to the local market team and convert these metrics into compelling marketing stories
  • Provide insights on what’s working and what’s not, and make content recommendations
  • Play a key role as taste-maker and apply a deep understanding across podcast, cultural happenings, music and pop culture
  • Stay on top of the latest trends across YouTube, Apple Podcast, Facebook, Snapchat and other media platforms

Who you are

  • Deep knowledge of the podcasting ecosystem in Spanish
  • Experience of programming and optimizing for engagement on a digital platform
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience drawing insights from internal and external data
  • Deep understanding of creative communication and a solid sense of quality and commercial messaging
  • Ability to drive your own work independently, leading multiple projects with many stakeholders
  • Stellar skills in creating strategic plans and present your ideas in a compelling way to team-mates and stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of audience segments and targeting content to meet the needs of various audiences
  • Experience in working with different publishing tools and CMS
  • A real passion for the entertainment and culture space and a great eye for quality content and talent
  • A strong command of the broader digital landscape and an interest in keeping up to date with developments in web and mobile platforms and applications
  • You are required to be fluent in English and other language skills are highly meriting
  • Bachelor’s Degree within communication or media
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience
  • Previous experience in working with podcasts is a must
