Senior Engineering Manager – Paid Area

The Paid – area is an engineering area that combines finance/accounting knowledge with deep technical knowledge about information architecture and big data. Our mission is to provide accurate, reliable and timely financial reporting to various stakeholders in the company.

You will manage a team to meet the needs and demands of a broadening scope and a growing employee base. You must be passionate about creating a state of the art engineering organization and culture as well as being passionate about building the business IT infrastructure that will help other parts of the organization iterate on new business ideas even faster.

As a leader of Paid Area Engineering, you must be passionate about back-end business infrastructure that powers sales opportunities at a global scale at the same time that it is providing accurate, reliable and timely financial data downstream. This includes amongst other things settlement matching, revenue recognition, tax/VAT and invoicing.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone to lead our Stockholm-based teams and group of existing engineering managers.

To be successful, you have experience in the following areas:

  • Motivation – You are someone who has a deep appreciation for the role that solid business IT infrastructure can play at a company like Spotify, and you can share this passion to motivate the team and the wider organisation.
  • Technical Leadership – You are someone who loves to inspire engineering teams and build partnerships with many stakeholders. You are comfortable with big data, back-end technologies and continuous delivery. You have experience building both systems and processes at scale.
  • People Leadership – You’ve got a track record on the people side, building and leading engineering teams in an agile environment. We value a strong culture (collaborative, innovative, passionate, sincere and playful) and so should you. You are able to foster and grow people and teams.
  • Developing leadership and building great managers is second nature to you. Ideally, you have been through hyper growth, and have experience with leading large teams and other managers.

You will be responsible for leading a fast-growing engineering organization, working a mission central to Spotify’s success.
