Product Manager – Accounting & Month End Close

We are looking for a Product Manager to join Spotify’s Arcade Team within the Tech Mission. The Arcade Team tackles globally complex and transaction heavy financial reporting and bookkeeping, builds financial platforms and apps, and enables Spotify to scale 10x while operating effortlessly. You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers, data experts and others in a fast moving, multi-disciplined environment. Above all, you will have a hand in building the world’s leading business information system organisation and your work will impact how subscription and e-commerce companies work with accounting, as well as the way the world experiences music.  

What you’ll do

  • Actively engage in our Month End Process through constant collaboration with your partners in RTR, P2P, Tax and Treasury to both catch immediate needs and build roadmap for longer term improvements that ensures we build the right infrastructure and platform solutions
  • Define and develop a product strategy including owning the short, medium and long term vision and execution for your product area
  • Lead the entire product life cycle, whether decisions require reinvestment, transitioning to maintenance or product retirement
  • Have your finger on the pulse of emerging technologies, and assess their relevance to Spotify and our developers and partake in and discuss the architecture/technical decisions made in the team
  • Work in a small leadership group that focus on supporting the team in their growth into a high performing team
  • Clearly communicate the vision, plans, objectives and performance measures and progress against plans to all stakeholders – tailoring communication as appropriate to ensure relevance to the audience
  • Work from our office in New York

Who you are

  • You have experience working in Accounting and optimising the Month End Close Process
  • You know how to influence decision making at all levels within an organisation, and in a variety of contexts
  • You are experienced at managing and developing well-loved products – including defining product roadmaps and long-term plans
  • You are experienced at communicating concepts and ideas to Partners at all levels within organisations, including oral and written presentations, proposals, specifications, and reports.
  • You care about about working in a well functioning team
  • You care about data informed product development
  • You have experience with agile development methodology
