Performance Marketing Manager (Programmatic)

Spotify is looking for a Programmatic manager for the performance marketing team who can own the overarching programmatic strategy and business. The ideal person for this role has strong programmatic background, can be the lead day-to-day subject matter expert, and knows how to stay ahead of industry trends.

What you’ll do:

  • Build strategies for scaling and optimizing programmatic global marketing campaigns for a diverse range of initiatives:
    • E.G. Revenue generation, user sign-ups, as well as local and global brand campaigns
  • Manage media agency & daily execution of programmatic campaigns
  • Conceptualize and implement optimization strategies to meet and exceed volume and ROI targets
  • Develop business plans and forecasts, ensuring proper pacing against said plans and volumes
  • Stay abreast of Programmatic industry trends and best practices in Performance Marketing
  • Have a passion for and knowledge of marketing technology advancements and proactively seek out opportunities to enhance our mar tech stack beyond just Programmatic platforms
  • Act as a liaison with other internal departments with vested interest in marketing tech advancements
  • Manage an intricate experimentation roadmap including A/B creative tests, incrementality tests, and spend scaling tests
  • Test new channels and technology for brand strategies in the US, including OOH, TV, Audio, etc.
  • Contribute to other team projects and initiatives, remaining flexible and willing to participate in cross channel deliverables
  • Educate global teams on programmatic capabilities and advancements, specifically as it pertains to new channels and tech for brand media initiatives


Who you are:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in digital media with a focus on Programmatic and Performance Media
  • Highly proficient in Excel (pivot tables, graphs, formulas, etc.)
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven
  • Deep familiarity with CPA, CPC, CPM, ARPU and LTV
  • Extreme comfort working with agency ad operations teams to ensure the proper implementation, QA, and troubleshooting of ad tags and floodlights
  • In depth knowledge of tracking systems and data transparency
  • Ability to set goals and execute under tight deadlines
  • In depth knowledge of how to leverage programmatic data for cross functional learnings ie behavioral analysis, path to conversion, etc.
  • Direct experience with analytics & marketing tech suites such as Google Analytics, DCM, DoubleClick Search, Adjust, LiveRamp and mParticle
  • Experience in/around a startup or mobile culture is a plus –  you are agile and able to adapt quickly, operating in a high growth mobile-first business
  • Experience working in a global team, collaborating across multiple geographies and familiarity with international data providers and inventory sources
  • Experience managing a small team with a large volume of demands
  • Experience trading in platform a huge plus
