Music Culture and Editorial Internship, Los Angeles – Summer 2020

Spotify is looking for Music Culture and Editorial interns to #JoinTheBand! The Music Culture and  Editorial Team is responsible for all areas of curation & music programming globally at Spotify. This team is critical for building new content experiences optimized for the Spotify platform and audience and are seen as trusted music genre and creative experts. Thriving on creativity and innovation, the Music Culture and Editorial intern will focus on driving the culture through music. 

What you’ll do:

Work closely with US and Canadian music editors to ideate and drive new playlisting and curation strategies

Assist the Music Culture and Editorial team in New Releases programming

Lead monthly communications that provides updates to both internal and external stakeholders on relevant new curation campaigns

Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Premium and other Spotify business units to drive campaign execution

Who you are:

A current undergraduate student with a demonstrated record of project management and analytical skills

You are a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to follow-up and follow through on all tasks

You have strong business acumen with the proven ability to take initiative and ideate 

You have a proven interest for a career in music/entertainment with a pulse on the latest in music and Pop Culture. Ideally, you have held previous internship positions in the music industry or have experience with curation and/or live music events

You have a strong cultural points of view

The Intern Gig:

Spotify is looking for enthusiastic students/recent graduates with a passion for music and an ambition to go far. This isn’t just any internship! Our paid internship program will give you the chance to gain in-depth knowledge of what it’s like to be a Spotify employee as well as get the opportunity to see the technology side of a fast growing company! Our summer internships will last for 10 weeks this summer and start in the beginning of June.

Mid December, 2019 – March, 2020: Interviews

January, 2020 – April, 2020: Offers given out

June, 2020: Intern program start
