Monetization Product Marketing Lead (Intelligence)

Spotify is looking for an experienced monetization/ads product marketing leader to to join the Global Marketing team to shape the advertising experience for millions of fans and the businesses trying to reach them. The Lead role will lead a high performing team to drive the development, communication, and execution of monetization product marketing strategies for our free music business. This candidate must have a proven track record as an innovative thinker that has global go-to-market (GTM) experience with ad manager interfaces and market/customer intelligence programs. We are looking for an experienced leader with a background in product strategy, inbound marketing, go-to-market, and growth execution. This position will report into the Global Director of Product Marketing and is a full-time position, based in New York.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a team of product marketers focused on ad manager self-serve products and market/customer feedback programs – recruit, hire, and train new product marketing managers
  • Drive the ad manager product marketing strategy that serves the needs of both enterprise and smb advertisers
  • Work with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, design, research, and analytics to align on product priorities and goals
  • Run a global market/customer intelligence program that feeds inbound market recommendations based on customer needs, competitive analysis, and market opportunity sizing
  • Influence product roadmaps through data driven insights and market/customer intelligence
  • Oversee the go-to-market strategy for product launches, adoption, and growth for our ad manager products
  • Partner with the business marketing team to develop and drive go-to-market through various channels (PR, events, speaking opportunities, sales activation, etc)
  • Share accountability with product and sales teams for product adoption growth goals
  • Evangelize the strategy and products through public speaking and collaboration with our communications and marketing teams
  • Requires 25% travel

 Who you are

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent; Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with digital brand and direct response ad products across display, video, search, and audio formats; outstanding expertise in audio and video preferred
  • Demonstrated monetization/ad product marketing expertise (inbound, go-to-market, growth) in desktop and mobile advertising and the ability to contribute at strategic and tactical levels
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to solve complex problems with data first strategy
  • Track record of influencing behavior at a variety of levels in the organization, including cross-functional managers and senior executives
  • Proven record of recruiting, coaching, and leading team of high performing product marketing managers
  • Clear history of running global market and customer intelligence programs to inform product strategy
  • Flexible cross-functional team player comfortable with a fast-paced, often ambiguous, environment
  • Bias for action with comfort in a “startup” environment
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills are essential for this highly collaborative position
