Forecasting Lead, Premium Analytics

We are looking for an experienced forecasting expert to lead, build and grow a core team of Data Scientists specialised within forecasting and understanding business performance within Spotify Premium. This is a highly impactful role where you and your team will own and further develop user forecasting models with the goal of forecasting the business accurately. You will also build a deeper understanding of the Premium business performance and enable better decision making across the entire business.

What you’ll do

  • You will lead, manage and grow a team of Data Scientists within Spotify Premium

  • Use industry-leading tools and methods to forecast, measure and understand business performance

  • Own and further develop a sophisticated proprietary forecasting model

  • Closely collaborate and partner with senior leaders across multiple teams and disciplines

Who you are

  • You have a Degree in Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or other relevant quantitative subject

  • You have 5 years or more experience of Data Science. Leadership and management experience is a plus.

  • You have experience with forecast/prediction modelling, creating business outlooks or similar and a track record of doing so with a high level of accuracy

  • You have a sophisticated approach to understand and replicate business logic in code in order to accurately model expected future outcomes

  • You have a solid understanding of statistics coupled with strong business acumen

  • You are an excellent communicator with ability to clearly and concisely explain complex and technical topics to senior business stakeholders

  • You have strong project management skills with the ability to lead and prioritise work in order to deliver on high impact projects in a timely manner

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and high energy environment and are comfortable with ambiguity

  • You prioritise simplicity over complexity

  • You are comfortable writing code on a daily basis (such as Python/R, Java, Scala) and have strong SQL skills

  • You have experience with analytics tools such as Tableau and QlikSense
