Engineering Manager – Content Knowledge

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team in London. The Content Knowledge team is a central enabler for Spotify, providing the differentiated data needed for the business to make well-informed decisions and build impactful products. We discover valuable and unique information about the world of audio by collecting, connecting and curating data. We’re looking for someone who can lead a fast-moving innovative team, helping engineers to solve challenging problems with reliable, scalable systems.

As an engineering manager at Spotify your main responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they grow as engineers and solving for our mission goals.Technical leadership and a strong background in delivering complex, quickly-evolving products will ensure you are able to challenge and grow the engineers you work with. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, work with your team on strategy and execution, and coordinate with other teams across Spotify.

What you’ll do

  • Build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development.
  • Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with our values.
  • Be an active part of the leadership group to improve our teams.

Who you are

  • You love developing and growing people across different disciplines and have a track record of doing so
  • You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development
  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high quality software
  • You have proven experience working in an agile development environment
  • You are driven to solve complex data problems
