Director, Premium Growth Strategy

We are looking for a Director of Strategy to join the Business Strategy team for our Premium subscription product. As such you will be focusing on crafting our growth strategy in our 65 markets across the world. This is a high impact role for the world’s leading music subscription business. Your work will set our strategy and guide our direction in terms of where to grow and how to invest. In this role you will partner with a diverse group of teams across disciplines such as Business Owners, Analytics, Consumer Insights, and Finance. The role is based in our New York office and will be reporting to our Head of Business Strategy in Spotify Premium.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a small team to identify, evaluate and prioritize growth opportunities worldwide
  • Lead strategic projects, identifying new audiences and channels for growth
  • Develop segmentation and analytical frameworks to achieve our growth goals
  • Analyze progress and establish processes for continuous improvements
  • Benchmark growth strategies and business metrics to other companies and industries
  • Monitor industry trends, and identify what they mean for Spotify and our growth strategy
  • Lead cross-functional projects for ideation and alignment on long-term strategic direction
  • Analyze financial metrics and resource allocation across our markets and multiple channels to identify new growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with the business partners and insights teams to align on the right initiatives to execute
  • Work from our offices in New York (with key stakeholders in Stockholm and New York)

Who you are:

  • You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a business subject from a leading institution, MBA strongly preferred
  • You have at least 5 years of experience leading strategic projects, preferably from a premier management consultant or investment firm
  • You have at least 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in the international technology or media space
