Account Director

We are looking for a sales executive that will join our East Coast team at Brooklyn based Gimlet Media. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, driven, accomplished and consultative sales professional with branded content sales experience who will hit the ground running with the primary focus of maintaining and growing some of our biggest accounts as well as developing new relationships. The candidate should have a proven track record of success in leading and developing the sale of large scale, highly custom programs across different mediums and categories.

What you’ll do:

  • Unlock new partnerships across a range of companies from financial services to top tier consumer brands across a variety or verticals
  • Meet and exceed advertising revenue goals
  • Build up the East Coast market and drive adoption of our editorial sponsorships and ad solutions to hit quarterly revenue targets
  • Partner and brainstorm with Gimlet Creative (our branded content team) and the GImlet marketing team to solve our partners’ business challenges
  • Attend weekly and monthly sales meetings as required
  • Manage activity using salesforce.com   
  • Work from our office in Brooklyn

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree
  • You have 4+ years of experience in a media agency/online sales role
  • You have knowledge of online and offline media and have the ability to be creative with audio and digital client solutions
  • You have strong negotiation skills and the ability to present effectively and close the deal
  • You have the ability to build a pipeline and proven track record of exceeding goals
  • You have dexterity in creating reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc
  • You have a deep understanding of digital ecosystem
  • You have a deep understanding of branded content sales cycles with a documented success record
  • You are a team player, smart, adapt well with change and have a positive attitude
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment and across external and internal teams to deliver creative, fresh campaigns
  • You know how to multitask in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach to your work
  • You have high level contacts at client, agency and activation groups, as well as an enormous amount of creativity and excitement about working in the fast-growing podcast and streaming audio industry
  • You are experienced with building strong relationships both internally with talent and/or editorial teams and externally with both clients and agencies
  • You have a deep understanding of branded content sales cycles with a documented success record
